The heart is a bloom

Shoots up through the stony ground.....

but not on the top pitch in Two Mile House GAA club!  The stony ground has been reduced to dust thanks to the return of our contractor on site with their brand-new stone crushing machine.  The pitch is in the final stages of preparation for sowing after a long period waiting for the wet weather to give way and let the ground dry out. The lights are being moved over to the Astro to allow for extended use over the dark winter evenings and the ball stop nets will be going up. All in all we are nearly there, the hard work of the different committees and generosity of our members, is about to come to fruition.  Teach an Dá Mhíle abú!

It is a beautiful day, don't let it get away. Our Senior men let nothing get away this week with good wins for both teams.  They are now headed for quarter finals, or as the fixtures like to put it the semi-finals semi-final!! Clearly the early season training session with our Senior Men has paid off for the U12s as they too are headed for a quarter final tonight in Athy. Go n-eirí an t-ádh le na buachaillí go léir!

Another quarter final of interest to Two Mile House GAA is the battle between Athgarvan and Rathcoffey in the Junior Championship taking place in Athy tomorrow.  Why, you might ask?  Well, in what I can only presume is a first, the management of both teams are Two Mile House alumni.  We have Chris Carey, former coach with our Senior Ladies as well as many other teams over the years, up against Glenn Lee and Tadgh O Neill of Senior men fame.  Remaining absolutely impartial, we wish everyone involved the very best of luck.

Tomorrow may well be another beautiful day but hopefully it won't get too hot for our U11 girls who take on Rathangan at home at 12pm.  The Senior Ladies continue their championship campaign on Tuesday evening at home to Sallins.

South Kildare Hurling U16 hurlers head to Maynooth on Sunday morning for their match which, should they win, will see them progress to their quarter final on Thursday. The U12 South Kildare hurlers will play Confey in their championship quarter final on Friday next, September 15th. Best of luck lads.

Oliver Plunketts, minors, play Eadestown on Tuesday evening in Eadstown.  No matter if it is Oliver Plunketts, South Kildare, Athgarvan or Rathcoffey,
