If you have not yet heard of the Metaverse, then you can say that you heard it first here!
The Metaverse is a term that generally applies to a virtual world and this week a well-known online company have announced that they are beginning to open up a virtual world app where the user can set up legless avatars and interact and play games with other user's avatars. This is considered the start of what may well be the future not just for gamers but also for business.
As far as I am aware, Gaelic football and Hurling are not yet available in this virtual world and, actually they would be very difficult to play with legless avatars, but we are at the time of year when there is no football or hurling available to u, as a club, in the real world either. Pitches are still there and the walking track is still open for all of you who wish to practice your skills or keep up your steps. Indeed, work is being done, in the club, on a big event very early in the new year around getting everyone up and moving and having fun with real life friends and family.
All of our Juvenile members are in for a big surprise over the coming week or so. We hope this will make up for some of the disappointment around not having a visit from Santa but will also keep them in the real world and help maintain their skills. So you better watch out!!
Last of the Trees! Yes, the last of the Christmas trees will be on sale tomorrow and Sunday, if stocks allow, at the club house from 12pm to 4pm. Great value and help your club at the same time.
If this universe is not enough for you and you feel you need to be part of the Metaverse, then I think you are going to need some Oculus VR sets. You see nothing in this life or the virtual world is free, so to help with all this expense where better to go than your very own club lotto with it's massive €6100 jackpot. Joe, already a star in his own right, might well start work on creating his very own legless avatar, and that does not imply that he will base his on a night in the Brown Bear!!😂😂 Whether we will be watching Joe or his avatar on Facebook live on Monday evening remains to be seen but he will once again try to give away a fabulous amount of money along with 2 lucky dip €25 prizes. The Chairman of the Club, along with PJ Gaire both celebrated their lucky dip wins last week. Congratulations gentlemen.
