Guess mine was not the first heart broken last Saturday in Hawkfield but like the other hopelessly devoted members of Two Mile House we will look on the bright side and realise we are still a Division 2 Intermediate Football club and there is plenty more to cheer about. Our Senior Ladies and Senior Reserves are just starting out on their championship campaigns and so too the U12s begin their first competitive season. They will head to Carbury on Sunday morning while the u14s have a busy week with the hurlers out on Monday evening against Maynooth and the U14 footballers are away to Castledermot on Wednesday evening.
There is still some difficulty with numbers as everyone, rightfully, enjoys the fine weather so it remains to be seen if the U14 girls have a team for their match against Suncroft this week. Training continues for those that want to get physical, coaches will keep you informed as to any changes in venue.
It's automatic, probably systematic, don't think it's hydromatic, it likely has a fuel injection cut off, no chrome plated rods but our brand-new lawnmower went like Grease Lightening on it's first cut last week. We took possession of the lawnmower, with the help of Quinns of Baltinglass, using funds raised to allow us draw down part of the Sports Grant secured earlier in the year. A very big thank you to Quinns. With the pitch looking smooth, our new LED lights, no neon here, and the work that is just about to start on the top pitch, we are getting closer and closer to our very own Xanadu but we will certainly not be allowing any drag racing on the premises!! We do still have a few Club draw tickets remaining to help with the fundraising and slots are filling fast for the Golf Classic on Friday 26th August. To get involved with either just contact any member of the Executive Committee.
Joe is no beauty school drop out instead his graduation day came with a degree in Accounting; hence he is doing such a good job with the finances. Holding on to that jackpot tighter than Sandy's leather pants, Joe has still not managed to find a winner. Every Monday evening on Facebook Live he does his very best and so he will again this week with a HUGE €9300 to give away. Karen Grant and Aidan Dowling both came out winners of the lucky dip draw. Don't put my good advice to shame, click on the link below or on any of the social media platforms or Clubzap and be in with a chance to win €9300.
